Måns Nilsson
Måns Nilsson is interested in policy analysis, institutional development, public management and strategic environmental assessment, with thematic emphasis on energy and environmental affairs, climate and development policy. He is Director of the Policy & Institutions Programme at SEI and Associate Professor in Environmental Strategies Research at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Måns has slipped over 20 papers past unsuspecting editors of academic journals. In 2001-2002, he was a Fellow with the Carnegie Council for Ethics and International Affairs. He has managed research projects in Sweden and Europe as well as consultancy, advisory and capacity building projects in Southeast Asia and Africa, with responsibilities covering research and expert-level tasks as well as all aspects of project management. Clients have included the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the African Development Bank, the European Commission, the Swedish government, bilateral development agencies, Swedish and international research foundations, and the private sector. Prior to joining SEI, he worked with the United Nations Development Programme in New York and Vattenfall Energy Systems in Sweden. He received his MSc in International Economics from University of Lund, Sweden, and his PhD degree in Policy Analysis from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands.
