Theodore Panagopoulos

Theodore J. Panagopoulos is Professor of Public Law (since 1984) and former Director of the Law Section of the Business Administration Department at the University of Piraeus. He is director of the postgraduate studies in International and European Studies at the University of Piraeus and member of the special Synodical Committee for the Ecology of the Church of Greece and the Chamber of Environment and Sustainable Development.

Theodore J. Panagopoulos published books and articles on subjects referring to General and Special Administrative Law, General Public Law, Civil Servants Law, Environmental Law. He is teaching courses at the University of Piraeus (in Public Law, Civil Servants Law, Environmental Protection Law, Public Economic Law) and the Department of Environmental Engineering of the Polytechnical University of Thrace (in Environmental Law).

Theodore J. Panagopoulos is organizer of and lecturer in several symposiums on environmental issues under the auspices of the University of Piraeus. The last one will take place in Chania, Crete in October 2008 and will have as topic: “The contribution of jurisprudence to the evolution of environmental law – sustainable development”. His current activities are working on issues of the climate changes and their impacts on environment from the legal point of view.
